Ages 9 – 14 work independently and in groups to receive an introduction to studio art and basic art materials, including charcoal, graphite, pastel, oil pastel and tempera paint. High school students receive further instruction in areas of interest, as well as assistance and guidance with Advanced Portfolio Studio Art through College Board.

The Art Workshop

The Art Workshop offers art enrichment classes for kids ages 3 and up. Pottery wheel, clay, drawing, painting and cartooning. Mom and Me, Preschool, Freestyle (choose your own project) and teen classes offered weekdays and Saturdays. Our new class called Freestyle allows kids to come in and make what they want out of clay. A lot of places offer painting premade pottery but ours is the only studio that offers creating your own art out of clay and then glazing it. Also, you can create a painting, drawing, or sculpture in this class. The sky’s the limit! Freestyle also gives schedule flexibility to parents because students can come any day of the week or Saturday to work on their project.

SPEND YOUR SUMMER AT UC’S COLLEGE-CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC (CCM)

If you’re looking for a fun, immersive and interactive summer arts experience for your 3-12-year-old, look no further than CCM Prep at UC’s College-Conservatory of Music! Summer camps include programs in Music, Dance and Theatre Arts where students can discover hidden talents, make friends and explore new skills.

From strings camp to ballet camps to the popular musical theatre camp —students of all ages will have the opportunity to explore their artistic interests in a relaxed, welcoming environment. CCM Summer Programs begin June 3 and continue through July 20!

Strings Camp: Young musicians practice their instrument, gain new friends and have fun while improving technique (Grades K-6 – previous playing experience is required)
Musical Theatre Camps: Young students develop teamwork, public speaking and creative performance with experienced musical theatre instructors (Ages 6-8 and Ages 9-12)
Themed Ballet Camps: Dance camps immerse young dancers in movement and imagination as they dance their way through beloved stories, including Aladdin, Rapunzel, and Moana! (Ages 3-6 and 6-8)

Young Rembrandts is a exciting after school drawing program. What do we do? Each week is a exciting (and kid tested) lesson, we use a step by step method that assures every student is a creative success. As we learn and use technical drawing skills, we discover that all complex objects can be broken down into familiar shapes; then use problem solving skills, innovation, and imagination to put them all together into eye-popping masterpieces! The Power of Drawing is a fundamental skill of the visual arts that can- and should – be learned by all children.Young Rembrandts teaches the drawing skills children need while developing learning skills that give children an academic advantage in the classroom. As students complete one new drawing each week,they learn a variety of art concepts including:

Portraiture
Line and Patterning
Still Life
Art Vocabulary
Color Theory
Realism/Abstract
Fundamental Composite Skills
