To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Big Red Machine, a new exhibit is now open at the Reds Hall of Fame Museum. The Big Red Machine: A 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Back-to-Back World Champions, presented by Dinsmore, features captivating video footage and over 100 artifacts that put a spotlight on the Great Eight and their team journey building the machine. A walk through this exhibition will have fans truly reliving the 1975 and 1976 world championship Reds era. And courtesy of the H.C.S. Foundation, kids 12 and under receive FREE admission! Open April 4th – September 1st, 2025 at Cincinnati Museum Center. This exhibition showcases sixty-five years of fashion and inspiration.

More than a doll. A cultural icon. 

With over 250 dolls on display, beautifully stitched ensembles, sparkling jewels, shoes on point and photo opps galore, this exhibition is perfectly pink. More than just pretty though, this exhibition takes a deep dive through the behind-the-scenes HERstory of Barbie.

Exhibit patrons will find themselves positively inspired by Barbies journey through time. Created in 1959, Barbie has made friends (and a boyfriend, per the request of her fans!), taken on a host of unique careers and has delved into every aspect of pop culture.

A tour through time, walking through the exhibition is a reminder of past barriers and how women have broken them all. From simply raising hemlines to tackling the field of science and technology careers, Barbie has highlighted the power shifts women have made. Take a gander at any given doll on display to investigate a true zeitgeist for what was happening during that given time frame. As womankind continues to push forward, Barbie is sure to reflect those advances. The sky is the limits when it comes to Barbie, and seeing this exhibition is a healthy reminder that the sky is the limit with women, too.

Cincinnati Museum Center’s new exhibit, Julia Child:A Recipe for Life is NOW OPEN! Families can visit the exhibit through May 18th, 2025. Admission is included with membership or daily admission.

The exhibit follows Julia Child’s life as a chef, but also as a pioneer woman who paved the wave for those who have gone on to follow in her footsteps. Following her upbringing, time spent serving our country, her accolades, awards and innovations, the exhibit leaves a lasting impression of Julia Child’s zest for life.

Cincinnati Family Magazine was lucky enough to check out the exhibition and we left with the overwhelming feeling of “Wow, I did not know Julia Child was that cool.” Long before Julia brought French cuisine to America, she was already doing iconic things with her life. Julia was not afraid to stand out (she was literally 6 foot 2) and go against the grain. In a time when writing and editing were thought to be men’s trades, Julia wrote and Julia edited. She used her height to step onto the court and played basketball for her college team. In a time of turmoil, Julia enlisted and worked for the Office of Strategic Services (the precursor to the CIA). All of this makes for an interesting and unique life story, but Julia also had a groundbreaking career as a chef, TV personality and cookbook author extraordinaire. A trailblazer in all facets of life, Julia’s recipe for life included ingredients like curiosity, boldness, passion and inspiration.

Families who enjoy stepping into the kitchen together to cook and families who enjoy deep dives into historical figures must visit this exciting exhibit! There are many fun photo ops and hands-on experiences… there are even chances to get a *whiff* of what Julia’s culinary offerings smell like.
